At Thornbury Music, we have an experienced and dedicated team of professional music teachers, all who share a joint passion for providing high quality music lessons to children and adults. All of our team are Enhanced DBS checked and each hold a wealth of experience and knowledge in their specialisms.
Lucy Joyce
Saxaphone, Clarinet, Piano

Lucy is a well respected local Music Teacher. She currently teaches at Tormead School and is the owner of Thornbury Music Studios.
Andrew Eveleigh, Drums

Holds a Diploma in Popular Music Performance from Drumtech, London. Awarded ‘best overall’ student.

A prolific and well respected teacher, maintaining a busy schedule both privately and at several schools throughout Surrey & Hampshire.

Plays regularly on the London & South East jazz circuits, honing his skills and passion for swing, bebop & latin styles.

Performs extensively throughout the UK in one of the country’s foremost party/function bands.

Known by his peers for his musical approach to drumming, his sensitivity to dynamics and for always serving the song.
Kathryn Leake
Voice, Piano
Studied at Merton College, Oxford, as organ scholar.
Was Director of Music at University College, Oxford.
Also formerly Director of Chapel Music Shrewsbury School and Director of Youth Music St Chad's Shrewsbury.
Has performed for BBC "Songs of Praise" several times and examines for ABRSM.
Currently Teaches at Ardingly and for Thomas' London Day Schools.

Emily Young
Cello, Piano

Emily studied Music BA(hons) and two further postgraduate degrees in Music Therapy and Secondary Education.

Emily is also qualified as a yoga teacher and creates music soundscapes for varied yoga and meditation events.

Emily offers a holistic and person centred approach resulting from nearly 20 years of teaching Cello & Piano, as well her work as a music therapist and yoga instructor.

She also teaches Cello & Piano at St.Edmund’s & Edgeborough schools near Farnham, as well as private tutoring in music theory, GCSE and A Level music.

Sebastian Becher
Guitar

Sebastian began learning piano at the age of six before discovering a passion for the guitar a few years later. He went on to study with notable teachers in Germany, including Peter Fischer and Frank Haunschild

Sebastian holds a degree in Contemporary Music Performance (Guitar) from the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM).

He has performed internationally and taught at respected British schools, including St Paul’s Boys’ School and Epsom College.

Comfortable across a wide range of styles—from pop and rock to acoustic fingerstyle and classical guitar

Sebastian brings versatility and depth to his teaching. His lessons are pupil-centred, focusing on enjoyment and steady progress.
