Thornbury Music Lessons Terms & Conditions

LESSONS

The academic year comprises of 3 terms, approximately 11 weeks in the spring term, 11 weeks in the summer term and 12 weeks in the autumn term. Lessons are ½ hr, ¾ hr or 1 hr depending on the level of pupil.

 

LESSONS MISSED BY THE PUPIL

We regret we are not able to give refunds for lessons missed by pupils but we will, wherever possible, try and make the lesson up. This make up lesson may, if necessary, be given by another teacher on another day/time. Please note that these make up lessons CANNOT be guaranteed and are dependant only where there is availability in the timetable.

 

LESSONS MISSED BY THE TEACHER

Where possible, lessons will be made up, or a full refund will be credited on your next terms invoice. For those clients that are leaving, a separate reimbursement will be made.

 

DEPUTY TEACHERSWe reserve the right to appoint a deputy teacher in the event of a teacher being ill or any other pre arranged commitment the teacher has to attend (e.g a funeral, performing engagement).

 

TERMINATION OF LESSONS Half a term’s notice in writing is required for terminating lessons, failing which a half a term’s fees will be payable in lieu of such notice.

FEESFees are based on £53 per hour.

 

PAYMENT OF FEES

Fees are payable strictly in advance by the first lesson of each half term. Payment is direct to our Barclays Bank Account Sort Code: 20-35-35 Account Number: 10854689. Please use your surname as a reference when transfering funds.

 

EXAMS

Exam fees will be invoiced separately and must be paid in advance of the examination. If the examination fee is not paid before the examination date, we reserve the right to withdraw the pupil from the examination. Exam fees are non-refundable apart from extenuating circumstances (e.g illness, where a valid medical certificate is required as proof).

 

CHANGING TEACHERS

We reserve the right to appoint a new teacher at any given time. Wherever possible, parents will be given half a terms notice of any such appointments. DBSAll teachers have been DBS checked (Enhanced).

 

LIABILITY

All pupils attending Thornbury Music do so at their own risk. The maximum of our liability will not exceed one terms worth of fees for any claim howsoever arising except in the event of personal injury or death that is proved to have arisen as a result of our negligence.

 

BEHAVIOUR

Aggressive or abusive behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated. In our absolute discretion, we reserve the right to exclude any pupil, parent or other individuals from Thornbury Music who behaves in an agressive or abusive manner, for such time as we consider necessary and appropriate.
